There are so many areas of life and vision we need the illumination of Gods wisdom for, that it is by prayers we receive it. For prayer is our free access to divine wisdom.
Why is prayer so important you may ask? the answer is simply that prayer is communing with God. It is you talking to God and you listening for God to talk back to you. In every relational discussion, effective communication is not said to have taken place until there is feedback received from the person spoken to or communicated with Matt.7:7. Nobody in search of truth ever knocks on a door and not expect it to open, nor ever asks a question and not expect an answer and no one truly seeking ever expects not to find; neither is the pattern different in our approach with God. He said “come boldly to the throne of Grace that you may obtain (receive, take) mercy and find grace to help in times of need ”
Heb.4:16. So, there is always Grace available to us to freely access the multiple wisdoms of God, if only we can come boldly and just ask.
Thus in Eph.1:16-19 we see Paul praying for the Ephesians, that their eyes should be enlighted to know the truth about the gospel, the riches and power in Christ Jesus and to know the manifold wisdoms of God, Eph.3:8-20. Most importantly I like the way Paul summarized the outcomes of these prayers when he said in Eph.3:20-21 “Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think , according to the power that works in us, be glory by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end, Amen. So we see that where asking is concerned, God is able to do much more abundantly above everything we could ever come up with. The questions to really ask ourselves are: Are we willing to ask? Are we ready to be led by Him? And are we willing to follow HIM?
