So you drive a car and have a job with a house to match, but what is your goal for living? What defines you the most? What is the intrinsic reason for which you were created on this earth? Why were you born? Why were you put into this world by God? This is a question to ask and if it can be answered, can change the course of your life forever towards the right direction.
Purpose is simply the reason for which a thing was created. Therefore the purpose of man is simply the reason for which you were created or placed in this earth just as the purpose of angels are to minister to God and to men Heb.1:14, so are we created for a purpose.
I always say that no man was created without a reason. In fact before you were formed, there was deliberation in heaven about certain issues on the earth and who was the best person to send to go tackle that issue and when the conclusion was drawn, you were sent in agreement to the conclusion of the deliberation that you were the best person to go solve that problem on the earth. Now, whether or not you accomplish that task or purpose in life is entirely up to you to decide, whether to yield to grace in obedience to the call on your life or not.
Jeremiah 1:5 says: “Before I formed thee in the belly, i knew thee; and before thou came forth, out of the womb, i sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations”. Notice what the Lord was saying to Jeremiah at the beginning of His earthly assignment; that proir to his conception in his mother’s womb, God knew him and we see a confirmation to this in Romans8:29-30 where Paul declared by the Spirit “For whom He(God) foreknows He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren” He didnt stop there, rather He went further to say “Moreover, whom He(God) did predestinate, them He also called and whom He called, them He(God) also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified”.
The Lord knew us all even before we were ever concieved into our mothers womb, that was what Paul was referring to as ‘foreknow’; which is the mystery of predestination (not of God deciding who He would have mercy on or not or who will triumph or fail in life; No, rather it was a predestination to a glorious call and divine purpose) that is, God knew us before we were conceived and born. Jeremiah also heard the Lord say to Him that before He came out of his mother’s womb He(God) had sanctified him and ordained him to be a prophet to the nations. This also goes in line with the revelation of Paul when He declared by the Spirit that “whosoever God predestinate, them He(God) also justified”. Thus the pattern of God is the same when it comes to His call on our lifes both in the Old testsment and in the New testament. Therefore, we know that from the beginning of time, God has being into the ministry of predestination, just has He also predestined Jesus to be the saviour of the world. So, He calls predestines every man and sanctified us unto that call, meaning He seperates us and makes us perfect unto that call. That is why outside of that specific call God has seperated us unto, we can’t flourish because that is where He has designed our living, beauty and glory. Outside of His call, we are miserable.
Please note that this call is not limited to spiritual things alone, like a call to be a pastor or evangelist or prophet; no, it can also be a call to be a banker, doctor, teacher, nurse, artist etc. Not just by skill but by divine endowment. I have heard and seen many persons whose present practice is different and an oceans divide from what they studied professionally. The call on their lifes has seperated them from there profession and they are doing greater in their call than they ever did in their profession because grace was upon them to fulfil their task exceedingly well. Yet, i have also seen people exceed, exceedingly well in there profession with much impact on their world with internal satisfaction because it is the Lords call upon there lifes. Then there is a third category i have seen of persons, both in a supposed call and some also in a profession who have gone so far, struggled and are burnt out and some succesful but discontent because they are not in their calling, they are not in their place, nor in their purpose, so they are frustrated.
