Yielding to Grace Prt.4

Dimensions of Yielding contd.
2. Yielding your members to holiness and higher walk in righteousness- This stems from the place of ascertained authority in Christ. This speaks of moving a step further into Christ, yielding to grace to become more as Christ. This is a place of superiority and victory over sin, where you strip sin completely of its hold over you through your yieldedness to Grace(Jesus Christ). There is a dimension of being made the righteousness of God by faith in Christ Jesus at new birth and there is a place of yielding your members to righteousness till you begin to bear fruits and greater fruits according to your root in Christ and righteousness. This later category, calls us to continuous yieldedness unto righteousness.

Righteousness is a force that works through you and moves you. It has being deposited in you at new birth and credited into your account as you believed in Christ Jesus. But that is not all to righteousness; therefore by faith and continuous fellowship with the Lord in His word, you begin to stir this force that is within you to begin to rise up, become greater, take over your life and produce fruits unto righteousness through you. The righteousness of faith that was given to you at new birth now begins to find expression within you and if you would listen to him and yield your members(that is your body, soul and spirit to him) to him, soon you would discover that you are beginning to have a change of fruits manifesting from within you into the physical. Just like a mango tree, when it stood alone, bore mango fruits all it’s life but when it is taken and joined to an orange tree; becoming engrafted to the orange tree, it would no longer bear mango fruits rather it would soon begin to bear orange fruits as long as it stays still, being yielded to the orange tree. The day it gets tired of its host (the orange tree) and decides it wants to be on its own again, from that day on, he would no longer be able to bear oranges.

Many have misunderstood the words of John in 1John3:7, because they’ve not understood the writings of paul in the book of Romans neither have they read the whole chapter of 1John3 to understand the heart of the father, when He spoke the words through John. Picking a verse of scripture out of context is a set up for error and falling into an erronous doctrine. The wisdom of God requires that we fully study through chapters and not just verses of scripture, so that we can understand the subject matter being spoken of and thus be open in our heart to listen to the interpretation of the Spirit of God concerning that . It is by this process of fully reading and studying through chapters (and not just the verse of scripture) with an open heart and hear turned toward the Holy Spirit for interpretation, that revelation knowlege of the truth comes to us. Picking independent scripture alone and dwelling solely on them with the mind has led to many misconceptions in the body of Christ but Jesus has being shedding more light in the dark areas of our generation. Now, back to the words of John in 1John3:5-9, verse 7 says “….let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous”. Here we see John confirming the truth that the root of rigtheousness in any true believer must bring forth fruits of righteousness that can be seen, when you read 1John3:1-24, you will understand that he was not saying you are not rigteous if you dont do the works of the law rather He was saying, that if you truly contacted the root of righteousness at new birth then you must bear fruits of righteousness, because it is not you working the fruits, rather it is the seed of God in you bearing this fruits in and through you 1Pet1:23, thus sin canot have dominion over you, because you are under(yielded to, surrendered to) grace Rom.6:14. Grace does not make you sin more rather grace makes you sin no more because when you truly encounter Jesus and His Grace, His incorruptible seed that is deposited in you 1Pet1:23, wars against sin and raises you to be triumphant over sin. You become so superior to sin that it cannot get you to fall for it, because you are born of God, thus you cannot sin 1John3:10.

Therefore yielding your members to righteousness is what makes you bear fruits of righteousness unto God that men may see the good works(of righteousness) and glorify your father in heaven Matt5:16. Sadly, rather than being a goodly example of Christ on the earth, many have cast shadows on Christ by their attitudes and works. The truth that needs to be understood is that we have being redeemed unto something different from our previous lifestyle and that is, we have being redeemed to serve the living God, both in our thoughts, words and deeds. Service to God is not as many think it to be; by only joining a service unit in church. It goes beyond that into your heart of service in reverence and worship of God John4:23-24. Your heart of yieldedness in constant and continuous fellowship with Him both in His Word, prayer and meditation in your every day thoughts would achieve what Paul said in Rom12:1-2, which is:
” Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service.
Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed
by the remewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good,
acceptable and perfect will of God”.
According to the message translation of this scripture it says:
” So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping,
eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.
Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.
Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out.
Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.
Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity,
God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
By this, we realise that as we yield more to the Grace of God in Christ Jesus we are empowered to be as He is in this world and to triumph over sin and the heavy ladens of life. As we continue with Jesus, the exploits we would begin to expereince would not be by reason of our own fleshy efforts of trying to make things work, but because of our yieldedness to the righteousness of faith by Grace, it would be the father in us that would be doing the works Phil2:13, John14:10 because we have so yielded to Him, that He is free to begin to work in us and for us and through us even unto others Eph. 2:10.

A life that is open to His leadings, directions, corrections and guidance daily hourly and in every minute and second of the day is a yielded life, which denounces all earthy cultures and laws to embrace the totality of the ” Jesus Culture”. When you yield to God in this way, then your service to Him will be pure and any other formal service that He may ask of you or lead you to do can then be worth while. But when you are brash wicked, proud, egocentric and self-centered about everything you do and every decision you make in life, then the fruits of righteousness can never be seen in you because Scriptures says the works of righteousness is peace and the effect of righteousness is quietness and assurance for ever more. Trying to work up a fruit would fail you, but yielding to Him and to His rigteousness under grace would transform your life forever, making you to become an engraced bearer of His fruits. What you yield to determines whose servant you are. If you yield to sin and the flesh, then you would be servants to sin and the flesh but if you yield to righteousness under grace, then you are set to be a servant of the righteousness by faith through Grace. Now the good news is that Jesus has redeemed us to have the power to choose who to serve and as we yield to righteousness by the pull of grace within us, then we would be in for the best of times because as servants of righteousness we are free from sin forever Romans 6.
