The Scripture- What Does it Mean

Scripture is the heart of God revealed to man.
2Timothy3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”

In the old testament, this word appears only once in Daniel 10:21 when the Angel spoke to Daniel.
As believers we must know how to rightly divide the word of truth because as we study the Bible, the Holy Spirit is with us, ready to reveal His words to us. Scriptures are the Words in the bible written of God and Jesus, His words, revelations, His person and wonders.

Scripture refers to the words and writings of truth from God Himself, through Jesus Christ to man John1:17 as scriptures. Thus the Angel speaking to Daniel in Daniel 10:21 called it scriptures of Truth. These are words directly from God, from the throne of Grace, revealing the truth of God. When you encounter scriptures you will encounter God in them, because they are full of power and truth Luke 24:32.

Scripture is the Heart of God revealed to man. Scriptures can be said to be Gods will and purpose reavealed in the Bible. Note that not all words written in the Bible are scriptures fit for reproof and doctrine as 2Timothy3:16 reveals. This is so easy to tell as they do not reveal the perfect will of God. Thus God reenacted that by 2 or 3 witnesses a matter is established, thus before we run off with a doctrine we must test it for confirmation. For Instance, Jobs initial words when His trial came wasn’t scripture as he said, the Lord giveth and taketh away Job3:25, if we receive of him good, shall we not also receive from His hand evil Job2:10. This words were not Spirit inspired, thus we see God rebuke Him of all his claims and at repentance, His story was turned around. Then we see truth revealed that it is devil who comes to steal, kill and destroy. Revealing to us that It was not God who took from Job but the devil at Jobs permission Job1:21

Scripture is the heart of God and the citadel of His power Matt.22:29. All the Words God spoke all through the Bible are scriptures. This is categorized into logos (that is the written word) and the Rhema (the revealed word). In the Logos we have the word given us in the stories of men or of a people for encouragement Rom.15:4 “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” and for a caution and correction, just as we see Jobs story encouraging us and at the same time cautioning us against fear and self righteousness and then teaching us of the faithfulness of God.

Rhema on the other hand is the revealed scripture to us. That word that gets personalized to us and changes our lifes for ever. But the key is this: when you truly access scripture, your heart is stirred up with power and grace and not condemnation and law. Luke24:32
True scripture births life and not death in you, it reveals the goodness of God, it reveals the truth about how God sees you, through grace and not bondage, it ignites you unto positive action John6:63 & 68. Thus as you study the Bible, engage the Holy Spirit to rightly divide the word of truth and to help you to truly glean the heart of the father from His word.
