We are in the days of the manifested Grace of Christ Jesus in the body of Christ. Thus the church would have to focus more on Jesus, beholding Jesus, Gazing at Jesus, leaning on Jesus and resting in Jesus, than we have ever done before.
According to John1:17, “the law was given by Moses but ‘Grace and Truth’ came by Jesus Christ.” We need to understand that the foundation and power of Christianity, is Jesus Christ (See: 1Corithianss 3:11, Romans1:16, 1Corinthias1:24 & 1Corinthians2:5). Moses had the law, but could not make it into the promised land (See Deuteronomy 34), and neither did any of them that left Egypt, make it into the promised land, except for Joshua and Caleb (You can carry out a personal study to this effect- See Numbers14. 14:20-24). Notice that Joshua and Caleb were men of Faith and men of the Word ( the Word of God) as seen in Joshua 14. This Word which they believed, is the same Word we have ( in our present times) now learned to be Jesus (John1:1-4 &14) and the Word of His Grace (Act20:32) that is able to give us an inheritance amongst the saints of God, just as He did for Joshua and Caleb.
You see, the law has an appeal to it, wanting to attract and lead people on to itself. From Moses outcome together with the children of Isreal in contrast to Joshua’s and Caleb’s outcome, we can with all certainty say that only those who hold on to Faith and the Word of Grace, truely possess their inheritances. Thus confirming the truth revealed in Acts20:32 that ‘the Word of His Grace is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance amongst all of them that are sanctified’. We see this operational in the life of Noah and Abraham, just as it was with Joshua, Caleb, David, Daniel and all them that you find in the hall of Faith (Hebrews 11).
Contrary to Moses experience, together with His followers, Jesus came with Grace and Truth. Grace that says, there is no more enmity between man and God, because of the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Thus qualifying people, without the works of the old law, to be beneficiaries of the entire blessings of God. Also Truth did Jesus brings to us, testifying to the manifold potency and originality of the ‘New Ea’ in the New Covenant. Declaring indeed that Jesus Christ has fulfilled the old law (Romans10:4) in Himself, taken it out of the way (Colossians2:13-15) and given us a New law in His Grace (John13:34,15:12, 1John 3:23, Hebrews8:8-13). Therefore, Jesus remains the everlasting testator and mediator of this New Covenant as we saw Him enter into heaven at his ressurrection and boldly declaring that he was going to prepare a place for us also to come dwell with Him in the exact place where he dwells (John14:1-3).
We therefore see the great golf of difference between the Covenant and Law of Moses and the Covenant and Law of Jesus Christ. Sice the time of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have seen the manifestations of the goodness of God, in the increased numbers of addicts receiving freedom from there addictions, the sick being healed, the poor getting wealthy, the opressed, being set free and the dead being raised back to life to tell of the beauty, glory and splendour of Heaven. These are all a confirmation of the truth that we are truly inheritors by Grace and that the Era of Grace is Now.
